LifeMD is still a genuine option — a real membership clinic that prescribes actual brand-name Wegovy and Zepbound and will fight your insurance for you — as long as you understand that the $149 everyone quotes is the membership, and the medicine is billed on top of it. What we like
- In-network with most major commercial plans and with Medicare, listed state by state, with prior-authorisation support included
- Self-pay visit prices published openly and identically everywhere: $299 first visit, $149 follow-up
- A dose-by-dose self-pay price list for every medication it prescribes, and it says plainly that it earns nothing on which one you pick
The caveats
- A booked appointment is the model, with monthly check-ins while you're getting started — the least nap-friendly shape there is
- Self-pay adds up fast: $299 for the first visit and $149 per follow-up, on top of the medication
- Brand-only, so there is no cheap compounded floor if budget is the whole problem

The caveats
- The $149 headline is the programme fee — medication is billed separately, so a cash payer's realistic all-in is closer to $298/mo
- LifeMD's own pages disagree with each other: the Wegovy pen is $199 on one banner slide and $499 on the next, and Zepbound is $299 in the FAQ but $349 on the programme page
- A "Medicare Accepted" badge appears on the same page whose FAQ excludes Medicare, Medicaid and TRICARE from the GLP-1 programme
