Head-to-head, mom to mom

Alloy vs Knownwell

Alloy and Knownwell both offer GLP-1 telehealth, but they make different trade-offs on signup ease, honest pricing, which meds you can get, state coverage and support. Here they are side-by-side on the Mom-Tested Score — our real-mom rubric.

Alloy

Higher score

Ranked #4 for moms · Grade B

Best for: Moms in perimenopause or menopause who want a doctor who understands the hormone side, who'd rather choose between six medications than one, and who will do the $99-plus-medication maths before they sign up.

Best for: Moms who have insurance and want it used, who'd rather have one obesity-medicine clinician who knows them than a form and a vial, and who want FDA-approved medication with real labelling on it.

The verdict

Higher Mom-Tested Score: Alloy

Alloy edges out Knownwell on the Mom-Tested Score, 85 to 83 (B vs B). Moms in perimenopause or menopause who want a doctor who understands the hormone side, who'd rather choose between six medications than one, and who will do the $99-plus-medication maths before they sign up.

Knownwell is still a genuine option — the only provider on my list that behaves like an actual doctor's office — in-network with most commercial plans and Medicare, dietitians and coaches built in, and every self-pay price published down to the dose — as long as you can get to a booked appointment every month at the start. Weigh the six mom factors below against your own priorities.

Alloy

Ranked #4 · Grade B

What we like

  • The widest formulary on this site: brand Zepbound and its KwikPen, brand Wegovy pen and pill, the oral Foundayo, and compounded semaglutide, tirzepatide and liraglutide
  • No video visit — an async intake, with a plan promised in under 12 hours
  • Unlimited messaging with the same menopause-trained physician, included in the fee rather than billed per visit

The caveats

  • A mandatory $99/mo fee sits on top of every advertised price, so the real floor is $169, not the $70 on the page
  • Every price is a "starting at" figure with no dose table — Wegovy is shown as $199 against a struck-through $499 with nothing explaining the gap
  • For brand medication you're billed by two companies: Alloy for the fee, NovoCare or LillyDirect for the drug

Knownwell

Ranked #8 · Grade B

What we like

  • In-network with most major commercial plans and with Medicare, listed state by state, with prior-authorisation support included
  • Self-pay visit prices published openly and identically everywhere: $299 first visit, $149 follow-up
  • A dose-by-dose self-pay price list for every medication it prescribes, and it says plainly that it earns nothing on which one you pick

The caveats

  • A booked appointment is the model, with monthly check-ins while you're getting started — the least nap-friendly shape there is
  • Self-pay adds up fast: $299 for the first visit and $149 per follow-up, on top of the medication
  • Brand-only, so there is no cheap compounded floor if budget is the whole problem

Assume any provider we list may compensate us — we may earn a commission, at no cost to you. It never changes a Mom-Tested Score. Pricing, states and verification reflect each provider's public disclosures at last review; the Mom-Tested Score is our editorial judgment per the methodology.
