The important sentence is Ro's, not mine: the cost of medication is not included in the membership fee, so the number that matters is the two added together. There's no FDA warning letter on record for Ro. What it does not publish is a state list, or how you cancel.

What I actually think of Ro Body

Ro Body is Ro's weight-loss program, and it sells brand-name GLP-1s only: the Wegovy pen and pill, Zepbound, and the Foundayo pill, with help using your insurance for Wegovy, Ozempic and Zepbound pens. There's no compounded version here. The single most important line on its pricing page is this one: the cost of medication is not included in the membership. So you're always adding two numbers together.

The membership

The first month of membership is $39, and Ro says it's refundable if you turn out not to be eligible for a GLP-1. After that, the monthly plan is $149 a month. If you prepay, it drops to $99 a month on three months, $89 on six and $74 on twelve. The "as low as $74" you'll see is that twelve-month prepay.

The membership covers access to the medications if you're prescribed, provider check-ins and on-demand messaging, side-effect help and dose adjustments, 1:1 health coaching, progress tracking, and insurance support, including the prior-authorization paperwork.

The medication, by dose

If you're paying cash, Ro lists the medicine price by dose, and it goes up as your dose does:

  • Wegovy pill: $149 a month at 1.5 mg, $199 at 4 mg, and $299 at 9 mg and 25 mg
  • Foundayo pill: $149 a month at 0.8 mg, $149 to $199 at the middle doses (a limited-time discount), and $299 at 9 mg and up
  • Wegovy pen: $199 a month for the first two months at 0.25 or 0.5 mg, with signup by December 31, 2026; $349 at 1 to 2.4 mg, and $399 at the 7.2 mg high dose
  • Zepbound KwikPen: $299 a month at 2.5 mg, $399 at 5 mg, and $449 at 7.5 mg and up with a manufacturer offer

With the $39 introductory membership, the first month of a 1.5 mg Wegovy pill costs $188, or $338 for Zepbound at 2.5 mg. Once the monthly membership becomes $149, those same medication doses total $298 and $448. Higher medication doses can cost more; the membership price depends on your payment term rather than dose. Longer prepaid membership plans have lower monthly equivalents, so sketch the care and medication charges separately.

How signup works

You answer health questions online, with no in-person office visit, and Ro says eligibility is decided within about two days. A provider reviews your answers and prescribes if it's appropriate. If you're using insurance, Ro checks your coverage and handles prior authorization, which it says takes two to three weeks, and the prescription goes to your pharmacy. Cash-pay orders ship to you in under a week, according to its own timeline.

Canceling and states

This is where Ro is quiet. Its site doesn't publish a list of states it serves, and it doesn't spell out how canceling works. Its refund page says prescription sales are final. Before you pay, I'd ask Ro how to cancel and whether it serves your state, and keep the answer in writing.

Who it's for, and who it isn't

It's for the mom who wants FDA-approved Wegovy or Zepbound rather than a compounded version, who might get insurance help with a pen, and who likes having coaching and a care team inside one app. It isn't the best fit if you're watching every dollar, since membership plus medication adds up quickly, or if you want a compounded option. Ro's page doesn't address pregnancy or breastfeeding, and no GLP-1 is established as safe in either, so that conversation belongs with your OB.

So, would I use it?

If I wanted the brand-name medicine and some hand-holding with insurance, yes, as long as I'd added up membership plus medication at the dose I expected to reach. If price is the deciding factor, compare first in the full list of reviews.
